NOTE OUR REFUND POLICY

If you withdraw:

In-Person and Zoom Workshops:  

  • One month or more prior to the workshop you will be offered a choice to receive a refund, less our processing costs, or a credit to apply to another workshop. 

  • Between one month and two weeks prior to the workshop you will receive a credit to apply to another workshop.  

  • Within two weeks of the workshop date, workshop fees will not be refunded.

3-Day/3-Session Workshops: (in-person or Zoom)

  • One month or more prior to the workshop you will  receive a refund, less our processing costs. 

  • Between one month and two weeks prior to the workshop you will receive a refund (minus fees) only if your spot can be filled.

  • Within two weeks of the workshop date, fees will not be refunded.

Otherwise:

Double/Triple Registration:

  • If you register multiple times for the same workshop you will receive a credit toward another workshop and no refund.

Books and Monographs:  

  • We do not accept returns on books or monographs.

Dues:  

  • Dues and Fees will not be refunded.

Workshop Description: Environmental Alchemist, Rhonda M. Fazio will take you on an Artist’s journey through Peru via a Power Point presentation. The workshop will be filled with stories of the artist’s travels and collective work of the past 26 years. She will share her experience as an Artist in Residence at the Sacred Valley of the Inca, where she studied with an ancestral dyer, and found a passion for ancient colors. She will talk about how she founded the Dyer Maker Studio, a traveling maker-space, that tells the story of people, plants, pigments and how their journey connects to our economic history and shared American experience. Lastly, she will talk about “Dyeing to Wear It”, an experiential workshop where participants create their own wearable art from the same materials that form the bedrock of textile making in human history, taught throughout the Commonwealth and surrounding states in public spaces.

Instructor Bio: Environmental Alchemist, Rhonda M. Fazio is an artist, writer, and owner of Dyer Maker Studio. A traveling textile lab specializing in the sustainable art and history of textile design, Rhonda teaches a series of experiential workshops – “Dyeing to Wear It” and “Teaching through Textiles”. In addition to her work with fabric, Ms. Fazio teaches the “Art and Language of Food” and “SNAP to the MAX” a series of cooking and food preservation classes in the South Coast of Massachusetts. Based in New Bedford, Ms. Fazio is a graduate of Art History and Textile Design from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Prior to UMD, she studied Professional Craft: Fiber and Clay at Haywood Community College near Asheville, North Carolina – an area rich with the influence and philosophy of Black Mountain College. Rhonda divides her time between the South Coast and the rest of the world, always researching and teaching her curriculum on food and fabric. She maintains Interwoven Arts Studio, a public venue, working art studio and gallery for local artists in the Seaport District of downtown New Bedford Massachusetts.
